Freshford can be reached easily by road or by rail. From the North and the Midlands road travellers take the M4 to Bath, following the A46 into the City or pass via the toll bridge at Bathhampton to join the A36 to Freshford.
From London and the South you can reach Freshford via the M4, or via the M3 taking the A303 to Stonehenge before joining the A36. It takes about 2.15 hours from London and the Midlands by road in normal traffic.
The train from Paddington to Bath takes 1.40 minutes and the times are being reduced with new rail work now in place.
